The Saskatchewan Government continues to roll out infrastructure funding with the R.M. of Britannia, Turtleford and Unity being the latest recipients.
The R.M. of Britannia request for just over $309,000 to chip seal roads in the municipality was accepted through the province’s Municipal Economic Enhancement Program.
The Town of Turtleford also received over $71,000 to repave Main Street and Unity requested over $369,000 to fund renovations in the community centre.
This past round of applications saw $22 million go out to fund 618 projects across the province.
A total of 1,359 projects have been approved since the program has been announced, worth $149 million. The cities of Lloydminster and North Battleford have both been approved their projects.
MEEP funding is part of $7.5 billion, two-year capital plan to stimulate local economies post-COVID-19 and create new jobs for residents. All money provided to municipalities must be used by March 31, 2022.
