Battlefords RCMP received a call of shots fired at a house in the 200 block of 15 street in Battleford at 2:27 a.m. on Monday, August 26. Mounties arrived and found a house with several gunshot holes. No injuries were reported to police and other officers on patrol found a vehicle close by.
The police say the vehicle refused to stop after an attempt was made to stop it, and after a short pursuit, a spike belt was deployed to disable it. The driver was taken into custody and Mounties say a gun and several rounds of ammunition were found inside the vehicle. The investigation is ongoing and the RCMP say charges are pending. Police don’t believe this to be a random incident.
