Bordertown H.O.G. Toy Run brings in over $95K

“We can’t thank the community enough,” says organizer Murray Getty, on behalf of the Bordertown H.O.G. Chapter as the non-profit has raised over $95,000 for local charities and the Ronald McDonald Houses in Saskatoon and Edmonton.

The 13th annual Toy Run has surpassed last year’s tally by some $20,000 reaching a record-breaking $95,286.02. Organizers add they got “a substantial collection of toys.”

“We thank the community of Lloydminster, our corporate sponsors, and volunteers for their continued support over the years. A big shoutout to the Bordertown H.O.G. members for all their efforts,” says Getty.

Organizers say to circle the date for the 14th Toy Run which will be on Sep. 13, 2025.

Meanwhile, a cheque presentation for the various charities will be held in the coming weeks.

Gerry has lived in Lloydminster since winter 2010. That detail is important as coming from the Caribbean he did not see green grass until May. Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
