Fire crews and first responders were busy on Highway 897 south on Tuesday, Aug. 26 responding to a vehicle rollover in which an unknown fluid was leaking from a ruptured tank.
At around 1:30 p.m. a transport truck rollover called out staff from Kitscoty Fire Department, RCMP, Medavie Ambulance and later, Paradise Valley Fire Department.
Initial reports suggested the driver may have been trapped inside the vehicle, however when crews arrived he had managed to escape. The driver was treated at the scene by EMS and Alberta Transportation of Dangerous Goods was notified as a pre-caution.
First responders were relieved to later discover that the driver was able to get out and also that the liquid was not a dangerous chemical.
Crews are thanking the public for stopping to help.
