Lloydminster RCMP are reporting a drop in several crime categories during the second quarter of the 2025-2026 fiscal year, covering July through September.
Tips from the public
According to detachment head, Inspector Brian Nicholl, proactive policing and targeted crime reduction strategies are beginning to show results. Also, increased public reporting has played a key role in solving cases that might otherwise have gone unresolved.
“The increase in reporting of crime has led to criminal charges in many instances that without the information from the public, the crimes would have likely gone unsolved,” said Nicholl.
Over the three-month period, Lloydminster RCMP responded to 5,300 calls for service. The city’s Operations Control Center received 2,157 emergency 911 calls, which included both police and fire department responses. Detachment staff also processed 702 criminal record checks and lodged 464 individuals in the local cell block. A total of 150 collisions were reported in the city.

Some of the data as shown in the table above:
- Total person crime dropping from 370 in 2021 to 283 in 2025
- Property crime down from 1,152 in 2021 to 941 in 2025
- Total criminal code down form 2,254 in 2021 to 1,827 in 2025
Criminal and provincial charges
RCMP laid 1,195 criminal and provincial charges during the quarter. Notably, 348 of those charges were for failing to comply with court orders—an increase of 67 from the previous quarter. Officers also issued 13 trespass tickets.
Police say investigations vary in complexity, with some resolved in under an hour and others requiring extensive time and resources. False alarms and abandoned 911 calls continue to divert officers from priority incidents.
