Three more key events remain for Family Violence Prevention Month. The Lloydminster programs are being organized by the Spark Foundation, which offers support in domestic violence situations.
Some of the learning this month has been about the 5 D’s of Bystander Intervention. That’s five proven methods to safely and effectively support someone in need, noted event planner Patty Milnthorp, Community Engagement Liaison with the Spark Foundation.
The 5 D’s stand for Document, Distract, Delegate, Delay, and Directly Intervene when it matters most.
