Lloydminster residents invited to review draft Tenant Resource Guide

The City of Lloydminster is inviting residents to review and provide feedback on its draft Tenant Resource Guide before the consultation period closes on July 19, 2026.

The guide was developed to provide clear, easy-to-understand information about tenant rights and responsibilities under the Residential Tenancies Act in both Alberta and Saskatchewan. City officials say the resource is intended to help renters better understand housing regulations while also offering practical supports and resources that promote successful and stable tenancies.

Feedback is being sought from tenants, landlords, housing providers, community organizations and anyone with an interest in rental housing. The City says public input will help ensure the final guide is accurate, practical and user-friendly for those who rely on it.

The initiative is part of the City of Lloydminster’s Social Policy Framework. Through that framework, several community working groups were created to address specific local needs. The Housing Working Group is focused on promoting informed, respectful and positive landlord-tenant relationships throughout the community.

Residents can review the draft guide and submit comments through the City’s tenant engagement webpage or by completing an online survey. The consultation period runs until the end of the day on July 19.

The final guide is expected to serve as a local resource for navigating tenancy regulations on both sides of the Alberta-Saskatchewan border while connecting residents with housing-related supports and information.

The draft is available online using this link. Comments can be submitted on the city’s website.

Gerry has lived in Lloydminster since winter 2010. That detail is important as coming from the Caribbean he did not see green grass until May. Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
