Lloydminster launches new Tenant Resource Guide for renters and landlords

A new resource is now available to help Lloydminster tenants better understand their rights, responsibilities and available community supports.

The Lloydminster Housing Working Group, with support from the City of Lloydminster, has launched a free Tenant Resource Guide aimed at promoting healthy tenant-landlord relationships and helping residents make Lloydminster home.

The guide provides tenants with information on their rights and responsibilities under both Alberta and Saskatchewan residential tenancy legislation. It also offers practical information on property maintenance, budgeting and money management, local bylaws, community services and other resources designed to help people successfully navigate rental housing.

Organizers say the guide is intended to support tenants throughout their rental journey while encouraging safe, respectful and well-informed neighbourhoods.

Local housing providers and organizations are being encouraged to distribute the guide to tenants as an educational resource.

A digital version of the Tenant Resource Guide is available online, and organizations can also pre-order free printed copies through the City of Lloydminster’s website.

Pre-ordered printed copies will be available for pickup at City Hall beginning in September.

Residents and organizations can access the guide and place orders for printed copies by visiting the City’s tenant resources webpage.

Gerry has lived in Lloydminster since winter 2010. That detail is important as coming from the Caribbean he did not see green grass until May. Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
