Bordertown HOG Toy Run aiming to top $1 million for local children’s charities in 15th year

The Bordertown Harley Owners Group (HOG) Chapter is preparing to celebrate a major milestone this September as its annual Toy Run and Dine & Dance Fundraiser marks its 15th year.

Organizers are aiming to push the event’s total fundraising past the $1 million mark for local children and youth-focused charities.

After 14 years, the fundraiser has generated a net total of $905,000, over $95,000 raised in 2024 alone. Organizers note those figures represent net proceeds, meaning all event expenses have been paid and 100 per cent of the remaining funds are directed to local charities.

Money raised supports several organizations in the Lloydminster region, including Lloydminster Sexual Assault Services, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lloydminster, the Lloydminster Community Youth Centre and KidSport.

Toy Run – Sep. 12

The 2026 event takes place Saturday, Sep. 12, beginning at Denham Chrysler Lloydminster, which serves as both the registration and starting location.

The day kicks off with a pancake breakfast from 9:00-10:30 a.m., with donations accepted. Registration runs from 9:00-11:00 a.m., followed by announcements at 11:15 a.m. Riders will depart at 11:30 a.m. for the Toy Run parade and ride.

The evening portion of the fundraiser begins at 5:00 p.m. when doors open for the Dine & Dance at the WLS Convention Centre at the Lloyd Ex. Supper is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., followed by silent and live auctions at 8:00 p.m. and a dance beginning at 9:00 p.m.

Tickets

Tickets are $50 each and include access to the entire day’s activities, including breakfast, the ride, supper, auctions and dance.

Tickets can be purchased online or locally at Revolt Motorsports, Enhanced Engineering (E2) Consulting, D&A Optometry, Lloydminster Honda and Denham Chrysler Lloydminster. Tickets will also be available on the day of the event.

Community support

Organizers say community support over the past 14 years has allowed the fundraiser to become one of the region’s most successful charity motorcycle events, helping thousands of local children and families through the organizations it supports.

With another strong year of fundraising, the group hopes to surpass the $1 million milestone and continue making a difference for young people across the Lloydminster area.

Gerry has lived in Lloydminster since winter 2010. That detail is important as coming from the Caribbean he did not see green grass until May. Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
