Lloydminster RCMP seek dashcam footage in fatal hit-and-run investigation

Lloydminster RCMP are asking residents to come forward with information, dashcam footage or security video following a fatal hit-and-run collision that occurred early Monday morning.

Police say officers responded to a report of a person lying on the roadway in the area of 49 Avenue at approximately 6:30 a.m. on Sept. 7. Upon arrival, investigators determined the individual had suffered injuries in a collision involving a vehicle. The person was taken to hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased.

RCMP say investigators have identified both a suspect vehicle and driver, but the investigation remains ongoing.

Police are now seeking assistance from anyone who was in the area of 49 Avenue and Highway 16 around the time of the collision. Investigators are particularly interested in obtaining dashcam footage or security camera video that may help advance the case.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Lloydminster RCMP at 780-808-8400. Those wishing to remain anonymous can provide information through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

RCMP say further updates will be provided as they become available.
