Bordertown Toy Run tops $1 million milestone for Lloydminster children’s charities

The Bordertown Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) Chapter has reached a major fundraising milestone, surpassing $1 million in net donations for local children’s charities over the past 15 years.

Organizers announced the results of the 15th Annual Bordertown Toy Run this week, revealing the event raised a record-breaking $129,804.64 this year, along with a significant number of toy donations. This year the event was held on Saturday, Sept. 12.

The total pushed the long-running fundraiser beyond its goal of raising $1 million for local children’s causes since the event began.

Money raised supports several organizations in the Lloydminster region, including Lloydminster Sexual Assault Services, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lloydminster, the Lloydminster Community Youth Centre and KidSport.

Event planners thanked Bordertown H.O.G. members, sponsors, volunteers, community partners and participants for helping make this year’s Toy Run the most successful fundraiser in the event’s history.

The annual ride has become a fixture in the region, bringing together motorcycle enthusiasts and community supporters to raise money and collect toys for local children and families in need.

Organizers said the milestone is a testament to what can be accomplished when the community comes together in support of local children, while also celebrating 15 years of riding, friendship and charitable giving.

Planning is already underway for next year’s event, with the 16th Annual Bordertown Toy Run scheduled for Sept. 11, 2027.

Gerry has lived in Lloydminster since winter 2010. That detail is important as coming from the Caribbean he did not see green grass until May. Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
