Two Missing Boaters from Lloydminster Found

Two boaters who were reported missing earlier this week are now home.

Loon Lake RCMP say they received a complaint of missing/overdue boaters at Round Lake, Saskatchewan on Sunday after a 50 year old man and woman did not come home when they were expected to. The police and Saskatchewan Environment Resource Management (SERM) went to Round Lake and conducted an immediate search of the lake and shoreline while utilizing an RCMP boat.

Monday morning, the RCMP say they noticed a life jacket, overturned boat and fishing gear on a shoreline and then searched the surrounding shoreline and treed area.

The Lloydminster couple was found later that day in the same area, both were transported to hospital and have since been released.

Loon Lake Detachment Commander Sergeant Phillip DeGruchy says “the RCMP are thankful that we were able to locate these individuals with assistance from our partners. We wish to thank everyone who participated in the search efforts.”
