Annual Try-A-Trade, April 30 at Lloyd Ex

The 12th annual Try-A-Trade expo by Lloydminster Construction Association will open its doors on Tuesday, April 30 at the Lloyd Ex to about 1,500 high schoolers and everyone interested in exploring their skills in the trades.

Fifty-one trades will be at the career event to promote their industries.

“They come from all seven industries – automotive, building, electrical, industrial, metal, piping, and service. So, it’s all the skilled trades under one roof,” says Dorothy Carson, executive director of the Lloydminster Construction Association (LCA).

The opportunity is there for demos, conversations with tradespeople about how they started their careers and meet ups with prospective employers, adds Carson.

The event targets youth and the general public running from 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. in the Culligan Building at the Lloydminster Exhibition.
