The Bea Fisher Foundation is raising funds for people with developmental disabilities with their annual Colour Within Run.
Marketing and Business Development Coordinator Kim Crockett says the run raises awareness for the work the foundation does, as well as raise funds for their programming.
“Primarily what it does is support the activities and the ongoing programs that Bea Fisher offers to clients that have developmental disabilities and helps them really get integrated into the community and live meaningful lives.”
The foundation offers life skill coaching, work skill coaching and employment opportunities for disabled people in order to get them involved in the community. Crockett says there is still time for people to get involved in the run.
“The walk is going to get going at 9 o’clock on Saturday morning. People are going to be coming down to get their t-shirts, get registered up and by 10 o’clock we hop to send people on a 5 km course around Bud Miller Park.”
Tickets for adults are $40 each and children 10 and under are $10 each. There will also be a barbecue taking place after the run.
