Olive Tree receives over $3,000 from Rona Lloydminster

The Olive Tree is able to help once again thanks to residents and Lowe’s. Rona Lloydminster has donated $3,671 through their Lowe’s Canada heroes Campaign.

The campaign has raised $1.1 million across Canada to help local non-profits and schools.  Rona Lloydminster raised $2,671 in-store and matched 50 cents on the dollar to go towards the non-profit. Assistant Executive Director of The Olive Tree Jana Lett says fundraising went smoothly, the community jumped on the chance to donate and help the Olive Tree.

“It’s an awesome feeling that no matter, kinda, what’s going people still think of us and donate.”

Lett says all proceeds will be going towards general programming.

“Something that drew Rona to us is that we have programs ranging from children to seniors, so it’s very inclusive that way. We deal with all ages and everybody from different walks of life. They just said to go into general and that’s amazing.”

Lett says that all donations help run the organization as they do not receive any sustainable government funding.

“Any donations, fundraisers and campaigns done in the community really help our operational costs. and run our programs and all our things. It’s huge that the community sees what they do is so helpful to support us.”

Anyone looking to donate towards the Olive Tree can head to their website.
