Lakeland students journey to Mexico on humanitarian trip

Lakeland College students who embarked on a journey to Mexico to do humanitarian work have now returned. About eight students received an education you can’t find in a classroom by going to Ensanada, Mexico and volunteering at a girl’s home and schools. Lakeland student Darianne Duffield says the children were pretty pumped to see the Canadians arrive and had signs waving at them as they got off the plane. Duffield tells Goat News the kids were eager to learn from the Lakeland students. Duffield says the kids were brimming with questions about Canadian winters, snow and polar bears.
