Lloydminster Bobcats ready to open training camp

The Lloydminster Bobcats are getting set to open training camp.
The team’s camp opens Friday, August 21, and will run until Sunday, August 23, followed by an intrasquad game on Monday night. The game will feature members of the media as coaches, including representatives from Newcap media, the Meridian Booster, The Source, and Justin Rodger from the Goat’s Morning Breath.
45 players will be participating, in hopes of landing one of the final 25 roster spots on the regular season team. Final spots will be announced prior to the team’s opening game against Bonnyville on Friday, September 11.
The Bobcats have announced 7 exhibition games this year, including three home games. Bonnyville will visit Lloydminster on August 28, Drumheller comes to town on September 2, and the SJHL’s Battlefords North Stars will travel to Lloydminster on September 5. The Bobcats and North Stars will play a back-to-back series this year, with the first game taking place September 4 in Wainwright.
