Northern Lights School Division Board Chair Arlene Hrynyk will serve a second term as the president of the Public School Boards’ Association of Alberta.
Hrynyk was re-elected at the association’s annual general meeting, after spending her first term advocating for LGTBQ rights, speaking out against cuts to education, and promoting the re-establishment of a provincial Student Voice initiative.
“I am looking forward to continuing to advocate for public school educationin Alberta and ensuring our children are the focus when decisions are being made about their education,” Hrynyk said.
Hrynyk has been a Northern Lights Trustee since 2001 and has served as Vice-Chair or Chair of the Board since 2003. She has also served as the Vice-Chair and Chair of Zone 2/3 of the Alberta School Boards’ Association.
