Vermilion RCMP charge man with multiple counts of criminal harassment

A Mannville man is facing charges for criminal harassment after making multiple unwanted phone calls and text messages.

Vermilion RCMP received a complaint about a person making unwanted phone calls and text messages on December 2. The next day, another person reported unwanted contact from a man and identified them to the police. Mounties received another five complaints from five individuals of a similar nature all linking to the same phone number on December 4 and 5.

On December 5, Vermilion RCMP arrested 32-year-old Jim Douglas Wilson of Mannville, Alberta in connection to the complaints.

Wilson is being charged with seven counts of criminal harassment, two counts of invitation to sexual touching, two counts of luring a child and one count of breach of probation.

Wilson remains in custody and will appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on December 10.
