Kitscoty RCMP arrest suspect in armed robbery

Kitscoty RCMP are celebrating after the arrest of Ashley Cadrain.

Police say that in the evening of Sunday, November 15th, Cadrain entered Dewberry Hotel and Bar and demanded money from the till with threatening the cashier with a can of pepper spray. Cadrain then sprayed a bystander in the face, and left eh bar, getting into a car with an unidentified man.

On Sunday, November 22, Cadrain was arrested in Edmonton, and has been charged with robbery with an offensive weapon, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public. He will appear in court on December 8th.

The RCMP say they are still trying to find the getaway driver. If anyone has any information, they are asked to call Kitscoty RCMP at (780) 846-2870 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
