Lakeland College’s Class of 2020 gets new convocation date

Lakeland College’s Class of 2020 will get to walk the stage after all, albeit a little later than usual.

Recently, the College announced that it would have to cancel 2020’s convocation in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19. At that time, President and CEO Dr Alice Wainwright-Stewart said they are exploring alternatives to celebrate the Class of 2020’s academic career.

People who were set to graduate will now have two days in 2021 to celebrate their achievement. Lloydminster campus’ new date is May 27th, 2021 and Vermilion Campus will get theirs on June 4th, 2021.

Attendees are still told to register before April 30th, so that they can receive their credential and be in the ceremony. Graduates will receive that credential in the mail by June and will be contacted closer to the date to provide attendance details.

That registration can be found on Lakeland College’s website.
