Lloydminster is set to begin mailing out tax notices, starting Friday, May 22nd.
The deadline to pay property taxes was extended this year to November 10th, 2020 as a payment deferral during the COVID-19 pandemic. Residents can pay their property taxes any time until then without facing any late penalties. Payments made after November 10th will have five per cent interest applied to outstanding current year property taxes.
Cheques, payment through online banking and pre-authorized debit plans are all accepted to pay property taxes. Cheques, with tax roll number included, can also be dropped in the City Hall Mail slot daily from 7 AM to 9 PM. Payments from credit cards cannot be accepted, but people can pay taxes at their bank if they choose.
Property tax cost is based on the property’s assessed value and the Council-approved property tax mill rate.
