COVID-19 numbers down in North-West Zone, 24 new cases across Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan health officials say there is now eight active COVID-19 cases in the area housing Lloydminster, the Battlefords and surrounding towns.

As of August 8th, the area is down to eight from ten on August 7th.

Breaking this down into subregions, The Lloydminster and District zone is now at two active, confirmed cases. The Battlefords zone is at one confirmed active case. The region housing several towns in the St.Walburg and Turtleford area has one confirmed case. The area housing towns like Cut Knife, Unity and Wilkie shows four confirmed cases, with one new case in the last 24 hours. None of these zones has new cases confirmed in the last 24 hours.

Across the province, 24 cases have been confirmed in the last day. Eleven have been found in Regina, five in the South Central zone, three in the North Central Zone, three in Saskatoon and one in the South West. One case’s location is pending. Eight of these cases are attached to communal living settings.

Thirteen people are in hospital.  Eight of them are receiving inpatient care.  Three are in Saskatoon, three in the South West region, one in South Central and one in Regina.  Five people are in intensive care, including four in Saskatoon and one in the North Central region.

Of 1,433 reported cases, 168 are considered active.  A total of 1,245 people have recovered, with 24 confirmed today.
