Saskatchewan North-West sees significant COVID-19 recovery numbers

There has been a drop in active COVID-19 cases in the North-West zone over the last day.

In Saskatchewan’s August 26th numbers update, health officials say there are now nine active cases in the area housing Lloydminster, The Battlefords and surrounding area. There have been sixteen recoveries confirmed in over the last 24 hours.

Looking at the subregions in the zone,  The Cut Knife-Wilkie area saw cases drop to three from seventeen in the latest word from health officials. The Battlefords zone is now at three, the St.Walburg-Turtleford region remains at three and the Lloydminster and District cluster stands at one active confirmed case.

There has also been another fatality in someone with COVID-19, a person in their 50s from South-West zone. Three new cases were confirmed in other parts of the province. Three people also remain in hospital, all in Saskatoon, two in intensive care.

Of the 1,604 reported cases, 60 are considered active, with 24 being in communal living environments. A total of 1,520 people have recovered.
