Single COVID-19 case reported at E.S. Laird Middle School

A positive COVID-19 case has been identified at E.S. Laird Middle School.

LPSD was informed by the Saskatchewan Health Authority in the grade 9B class on January 20. All students in the class who were identified as close contacts will begin self-isolation until midnight on January 29.

Communication has also been shared with specific cohorts and the school community. LPSD says in order to protect privacy no other details will be shared.

LPSD remind students and families that it is a shared responsibility in decreasing the risk of COVID-19 entering schools. Students are asked to continue completing their daily health screening, stay home if ill and call HealthLine 811 if anyone is exhibiting symptoms.

“Students and staff well-being is our top priority and will continue to remain at the forefront as we navigate these cases within our school,” says Director of Education Todd Robinson. “We will work collaboratively with SHA and Public Health to minimize further risks of transmission within our school and the Lloydminster community.”

Everyone is reminded to practice proper hand hygiene, maintain physical distancing as much as possible and wearing a mask in order to keep each other safe.
