Man charged with second degree murder from Waterhen Lake First Nation

One adult male is dead following an altercation at a residence on Waterhen Lake First Nation.

Meadow Lake RCMP and EMS attended to the scene around 7:30 p.m. Thursday, February 25th and located the deceased male, 56-year-old Tommy Fiddler. Investigators believed his death to be suspicious in nature, as he was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Following an investigation involving the RCMP Major Crime Unit South, 62-year-old Gordon Joseph Fiddler of Waterhen Lake First Nation has been charged with second degree murder and prohibited possession of a firearm.

The two men were known to each other, and Gordon Fiddler will appear in Meadow Lake Provincial Court Monday, February 29th, at 9:30 a.m.

An autopsy for Tommy Fiddler is scheduled to take place this week in Saskatoon.
