The City of Lloydminster and Vic Juba Community Theatre are teaming up to try and bring the biggest and best in concerts and acts to the soon-to-be-open Cenovus Energy Hub as part of a new three-year proposed partnership.
The draft deal would see the two jointly host up to three concerts annually, 20% of the net profit of each concert paid to VJCT when a concert is profitable, as well as annual funding for things like technical support, and concert staffing.
Executive Manager of Community Development Services for the City of Lloydminster Tracy Simpson says the proposed partnership aligns with the municipality’s goal of making Cenovus Energy Hub a highly activated facility
“The entertainment industry can be a complex realm, we understand that solid relationships and industry knowledge are essential to attracting and hosting high-quality acts. The Vic Juba team has these relationships already in place,” Simpson adds.
The agreement needs to be both fully approved by council and the VJCT board before being ratified. If approved, it would go into effect in January, 2026. The Cenovus Energy Hub will be open to the public next month.
