The suspect in last night’s armed robbery is now in custody.
According to a news release issued by the Lloydminster RCMP, a call was received in the early hours of August 12, 2016, detailing an armed robbery at Family Pizza in the Border City. The release states that a lone male entered the pizzeria, produced a weapon, and demanded money, and fled after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash.
Members of the Lloydminster RCMP located the male following the robbery, after assistance from support units and the Police Dog Service. A search warrant was executed on a residence in the city, after which the 26 year old suspect, the weapon used, and other stolen property were located by police.
The release states that the matter remains under investigation and charges are pending against the suspect.
