The Goat’s Christmas Wish brings Holiday cheer to Lloydminster families

The holiday season in Lloydminster is brighter thanks to The Goat’s Christmas Wish, a long-running community initiative dedicated to helping local families in need. Organized by 106.1 The Goat, the program has raised more than $1 million in funds and products over the past 20 years, making a real difference for residents across the region.

Nominations close Nov. 29

Each year, listeners nominate individuals or families facing hardship, sharing their stories and greatest needs—from groceries and gas to medical expenses or creating special family memories. A volunteer committee reviews the nominations and selects recipients to receive a “Goat Wish,” providing immediate support during what can be a challenging time.

This year, nominations close on Nov. 29. You can submit nominations online using this link and listen to reactions of previous recipients.

With the nomination period underway and fundraising ramping up, The Goat’s Christmas Wish continues its mission: spreading kindness and making magic happen for those who need it most.

Gerry has lived in Lloydminster since winter 2010. That detail is important as coming from the Caribbean he did not see green grass until May. Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
