Lloydminster sees another drop in crime to end 2025

Policing data reveals a significant downturn in criminal activity across Lloydminster during the final quarter of 2025. This continues a trend that was reported by RCMP in Q2 from July through September 2025.

Total Criminal Code incidents plummeted to 1,585 between October and December, a sharp contrast to the 2,085 cases reported during the same window in 2024.

The city saw a total of 4,285 calls for service in the year’s closing months, representing a decrease of 715 calls compared to the preceding quarter.

Reports of property crime, vehicle thefts down

The most substantial improvements appeared in property-related offenses. Incidents in this category fell by nearly 41 per cent, dropping from 1,309 in late 2024 to 769 in the final months of 2025.

Vehicle thefts saw an even more dramatic decline. Reports of stolen cars and trucks fell from 90 to just 32 year-over-year—a 64 per cent reduction.

Surge in drug charges and court breaches

While overall crime rates trended downward, certain enforcement areas saw a spike in activity:

  • Court Orders: Officers laid 300 charges for failing to comply with court-mandated conditions, up from 258 the previous year
  • Drug Enforcement: Charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act rose to 72, an increase of 30 cases over the 2024 figures

Quarterly operations by the numbers

Beyond criminal investigations, the report highlights a busy period for local law enforcement infrastructure and administrative services:

Less false alarms

A reduction in false alarms and abandoned emergency calls has been noted as a positive shift, allowing personnel to focus more on high-priority emergencies and proactive patrols.
