Nominations open for Alberta Business Awards of Distinction

Nominations for the Alberta Business Awards of Distinction are now open.

This year, there are 12 different awards to be won. To be nominated, you must be a member of a local Chambers of Commerce in Alberta.

President and CEO of the Alberta Chambers of Commerce, Shauna Feth says that by winning one of these awards, the marketing possibilities are endless.

“It really helps to ensure businesses understand the value of the chamber network, but also how they can leverage that award in their own community for marketing purposes,” she said.

In 2024, Red Bicycle Communications in Lloydminster won the  Mentorship Award from the Alberta Chambers of Commerce. The Lloydminster communications operation got the nod while facing competition from businesses in Airdrie and Edmonton.

Feth says even if you have won an award previously, you are still eligible to win again.

This years award ceremony will take place in Edmonton. Feth adds the ceremony is one of her favourites that the organization puts on annually.

“It’s one of my favourite events that we do, just because it is purely about celebration, and celebrating businesses in Alberta. And, the huge impacts that these small, medium, and large enterprises are having on the landscape of Alberta.”

Nominations are open until March 23rd. You have the choice nominate yourself or someone that you know. The nomination application can be found on the Chambers’ website.

Gerry has lived in Lloydminster since winter 2010. That detail is important as coming from the Caribbean he did not see green grass until May. Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
