Saskatchewan entrepreneurs can apply for $5,000 business bursary until July 17

Young entrepreneurs in Saskatchewan, including in Lloydminster area have just over a week left to apply for funding and mentorship through the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce’s Young Entrepreneur Bursary Program.

Last year, three young entrepreneurs with ties to the Lloydminster region received the bursaries.

The chamber is accepting applications for the second intake of the program, which supports emerging business owners across the province. Successful applicants will receive a $5,000 bursary, access to mentorship workshops, and a complimentary Saskatchewan Chamber membership aimed at helping entrepreneurs grow their businesses and professional networks.

The program saw strong interest during its inaugural year, attracting more than 340 applications and providing support to 57 entrepreneurs in 46 Saskatchewan communities.

The Saskatchewan Chamber says the bursary is designed to help the next generation of business leaders access resources, guidance and networking opportunities as they build and expand their ventures.

Applications close on Friday, July 17, 2026, and eligible entrepreneurs are encouraged to apply before the deadline.

Gerry has lived in Lloydminster since winter 2010. That detail is important as coming from the Caribbean he did not see green grass until May. Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
