Personal income eligibility include:

  • Single person up to $40,000
  • Couple Up to $55,000
  • Each additional dependent $5,000
  • Interest income less than $1,000

You can drop in or book appointments to have your tax returns prepared in a supportive, welcoming environment at the Lloydminster campus from March 19–21 and April 9–10.

“This is learning by doing in the most meaningful way,” says Janey Decker, accounting business instructor at Lakeland College. “Our students aren’t just studying tax theory – they’re applying it in real situations, working with real clients and gaining the confidence that comes from delivering a professional service. They graduate with experience already on their résumé.”

A team of twelve business administration diploma students, all trained through the Canadian Volunteer Income Tax Program, will complete tax returns under instructor supervision to ensure accuracy. Four returning students are entering their second year of clinic work, further building their expertise while mentoring peers and supporting the community. Administrative professional students are also assisting behind the scenes by managing bookings and event logistics.

Gerry has lived in Lloydminster since winter 2010. That detail is important as coming from the Caribbean he did not see green grass until May. Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
