Hometown hire: Lloydminster Bobcats name local product Chase Haygarth assistant coach

The Lloydminster Bobcats have added a familiar face to the bench.

The team has announced local product Chase Haygarth as its new Assistant Coach ahead of the upcoming AJHL season.

Haygarth brings junior and college playing experience and a strong background in player development. After his playing career, he moved behind the bench, most recently serving as head coach of the Lloydminster Lancers U15 AAA, while also working with Twins Development.

Bobcats General Manager Nigel Dube says Haygarth’s experience and ability to connect with players will be a big asset.

Haygarth joins Head Coach Matt Brassard as preparations continue for the new season.

Gerry has lived in Lloydminster since winter 2010. That detail is important as coming from the Caribbean he did not see green grass until May. Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
