Young Lloydminster resident gets new bike after theft

A boy in the Border City has received a new bike, after his old one was stolen in September.

Linden Vandermeulen had his old bike stolen on September 27, after an intruder entered the backyard and made off with the bike, which had been given to Linden as a birthday present three weeks earlier.

After the theft, Christa Vandermeulen, Linden’s mother, posted about the incident on social media, which came to the attention of Randy Marsh, who runs the Lloydminster Motor Club. According to Marsh, the club had some funds left over from the Tanner Graf Memorial event held earlier in the summer, which they put towards getting  Linden a new bike.

The club gave Linden his new ride on Thursday evening, with a gathering held at Factory Sports Excellence in the evening. The young man received his new set of wheels, as well as a brand-new lock to help keep it secure.

Commenting on social media after the event, Christa thanked everyone involved, and said her son was on ‘cloud 9’.

“Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to Randy Marsh, his beautiful wife, the Lloyd Motor Club, and Factory Sports, and everyone who came out!” said Christa.

“I sure have met some of the most amazing people in this town!”
