Amber Alert ended after young girl found deceased

UPDATE #3

According to police, Nia Eastman has been found dead in a home in Choiceland. The discovery took place at 12:45 p.m. at a home in the community. The Amber Alert has now ended.

Adam Eastman was found dead of self-inflicted injuries at 5:30 a.m. The search for Nia is still ongoing


UPDATE #1

Nia Eastman is believed to be with her father Adam Jay Eastman.

She was to be returned home to her mother by 7:00 pm on November 9, 2016. A vehicle believed to be operated by Adam Jay Eastman was located on a rural property east of Smeaton near Snowden at approximately 10:00 pm. Neither Adam nor Nia were located with the vehicle. RCMP is on scene and searching the vicinity. It is unknown if Adam Jay Eastman has access to a second vehicle. Direction of travel and current whereabouts are unknown.

The Amber Alert system has been activated by the Saskatchewan RCMP.

An alert was sent out at 4:15 a.m. after a request was made by the Niwapin RCMP.

The victim, according to the alert, is Nia Eastman, a 7-year-old female. She is Caucasian, 120 cm tall, and weighs 22.7 kilograms.  She has blonde, shoulder length hair.  She was last seen wearing pink eye glasses, purple long sleeved shirt with butterflies, pink skirt and purple leggings with silver trim at the bottom. A recent photo of Nia is attached to this story.

Police believe the child was taken by Adam Jay Eastman. He is a Caucasian male, 45-years-old.  Eastman is described as 180 cm tall, 63.6 kilograms.  He has short brown hair and wears glasses. A recent photo of Eastman is below.
