ES Laird Middle School students packed the gym to watch the Lakeland Rustlers take on the Providence Pilots, gaining a firsthand look at college volleyball ahead of this weekend's Rustlers invitational tournament.

A Lloydminster Comprehensive High School student will be representing Canada on the international volleyball stage.

Lloydminster Comprehensive High School Grade 11 student Lennon Mari has been selected for Volleyball Canada’s National Excellence Program, which identifies the top 20 athletes in the country. He’s the only athlete from Saskatchewan chosen this year.

Their athletes have delivered on the ice and on the volleyball court as Lakeland College Rustlers will have more hardware and banners to hang in the barn.

College Park is the venue for the North West High Schools Athletic Association (NWHSAA) 2A Volleyball Districts on Sat., Oct. 25.

The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) confirms that the Lakeland College Rustlers Women's and Men's volleyball teams have been sanctioned for the teams' planning and participation in team hazing activities, which is a violation of the ACAC's zero tolerance hazing policy. The ACAC has fined both teams a combined $6,000 among other sanctions.
