A North Battleford team will be among those competing on the national stage when the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling comes to the city.
The Merdian Open compiles the best teams from across Canada to play in a round-robin tournament. This year, team Silvernagle, captained by skip Robyn Silvernagle has qualified for the tournament. The team will be playing against 16 other women’s teams to take home the women’s title. They qualified during the tour challenge in Thunder Bay and are only the second team from Saskatchewan to do so.
With a home team and two from the province now joining, companies like Destinations Battlefords are speculating an increase in ticket demands. Last year Lloydminster hosted the games and saw about $50,000 in net revenue.
Fans can purchase tickets through the Pinty’s Curling Website or the Battlefords North Stars Box Office.
