SARCAN taking in donation for STARS Saskatchewan

STARS Saskatchewan is opening up a new way for residents to donate to their organization.

As SARCAN facilities throughout the province reopen, visitors will have another option to donate their money to non-profit organizations.

Through SARCAN’s Drop & Go service, Saskatchewan residents will be able to drop off their bags of returns and tag them for STARS.

STARS spokesperson Mark Oddan says this is a new way for the organization to fundraise and is another helpful funding stream during the COVID-19 pandemic. He says every penny counts even if the money from bottle returns may not seem like a lot for a donation.

Other charities and non-profits such as the Kinsmen Foundation’s Telemiracle are using this initiative as well.

Lloydminster residents are able to donate their bottle returns at the Bea Fisher Bottle Depot as well. Donations at the depot can go to either the Bea Fisher Foundation or the Ronald McDonald House by dropping off the bottles to a worker at the front door and specifying which foundation.

Glass or plastic shields have been installed at many facilities to ensure the safety or depot workers. Depots are also limiting the number of people inside the building and visitors are reminded to maintain physical distancing.
