City celebrating volunteers with Drive-In Movie Night

With National Volunteers week being observed, the City is putting on an event to celebrate the unsung heroes of the community.

The City of Lloydminster is inviting local volunteers and the rest of the community to be part of their movie night on Saturday April 24th at the Servus Sports Centre.

Mayor Gerald Aalbers, in extending the invitation, was high in praise for the work of volunteers and the numerous service groups and clubs in the Border City.

“It’s important to recognize volunteers. I would like to personally say thank you on behalf of city council members, as well as a very grateful city to all our volunteers that continue to make things happen in our city each and every day.”

The value of one, the power of many is the theme for this year’s volunteer week. Mayor Aalbers added it would take him over an hour if he started listing all of the many volunteer groups who give of their time to the City.

Volunteer appreciation Movie Night will be running three separate shows from 12:45 pm to 8:30 pm at the Servus Sports Centre’s south parking lot.

COVID-19 distancing guidelines will be in place.
