Elk Point RCMP have arrested 3 people following an incident near a residence on the Fishing Lake Metis Settlement.
On Saturday, March 5th, around 1 p.m. RCMP were dispatched to answer a complaint of a man pointing a firearm at two people, and were told the male suspect was associated with a small red car.
RCMP observed the suspect vehicle and initiated a pursuit. The pursuit proceeded north through Frog Lake First Nations where it was terminated due to public safety concerns, as the vehicle’s driving pattern was very erratic.
Another Elk Point member was doing patrols in the Fishing Lake Metis Settlement when the suspect vehicle went past him at an excessive rate of speed. The member turned around and tried to catch up to the suspect vehicle when a firearm was seen pointed out the drivers side of the vehicle and shot at the police car. The suspect vehicle then drove into a ditch and three people, 1 male and 2 females, exited the vehicle and ran into the bush.
RCMP members from Bonnyville, Cold Lake, St. Paul, Traffic Services, Elk Point and Police Dog Services converged on Fishing Lake to search for the suspects. A RCMP helicopter was also utilized in the search.
No members of the public, nor members of the RCMP were injured. A firearm was found in the suspect vehicle and eventually, the male and two females were arrested.
19-year-old Austin Donald Crevier of Fishing Lake has been charged with 2 counts of Pointing a Firearm and 1 count of Uttering Threats. His first court appearance is schedule for Thursday April 7th at St. Paul Provincial Court.
19-year-old, Enilda Roxanne Lewis, of Frog Lake faces charges of 1 count of Obstruction of a Peace Officer and 1 count of Public Mischief. Her court date is also scheduled for April 7th in St. Paul.
And 20-year-old, Andy George Lacombe of Fishing Lake has been charged with 1 count of Discharge a Firearm with Intent, 1 count of Flight from Police, 1 count of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, 1 count of Possession of a Firearm contrary to Court Order, 1 count of Resist Arrest, 1 count of Possession of a loaded prohibited while not Authorized, 1 count of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle, 1 count of Pointing a Firearm, and 1 count of Careless Use of a Firearm. Lacombe is currently in custody in Saskatchewan and will be transported back to Alberta for a yet undetermined date of his first court appearance.
