Two firearms-related incidents over the weekend in North Battleford

Battlefords RCMP are investigating two separate incidents involving firearms that occurred over the weekend in North Battleford.
On Sunday, March 13th, around 4 a.m., Police were called to a residence in the 1600 block of 104th Street, regarding a male reportedly suffering from a single gunshot wound to his left leg.  The 22-year-old male victim was transported to hospital and remains there for treatment, but is expected to make a full recovery.
Several witnesses have been interviewed about this matter, but at this point there are no suspects positively identified, and RCMP continue to investigate.
As well, Police are investigating a second incident, which took place in the 800 block of 111th Street later that night. A residence is suspected of having been shot at by several rounds from a firearm, at approximately 10:30 p.m., the same day. Police were called to the area after a witness reported having heard gunshots.  No one was inside the residence at the time of the incident.
It is unknown at this time if the two incidents in question are related.
