Lloyd Ex readies for Agri-Visions 2023

The Lloydminster Exhibition Agriculture showpiece Agri-Visions is rolling out again in 2023 and organizers are in the final stages of revealing the latest in the grain and cattle industries all in one place over two days.

Keith Fournier with the organizing committee at the Lloyd Ex says the event opens with a farmgate breakfast on Feb. 8 and continues with breakout sessions throughout the day along with the tradeshow leading up to the Heart of the Farm banquet at 6 p.m. with Quick Dick McDick.

“It’s going to be a fun time with Quick Dick McDick. He’s an entertaining speaker. He’s got knowledge on some Ag policy. He’s also speaking on the second day of the Agri-Visions show on the Future of Agriculture.”

The breakout sessions will see presentations on grain and livestock marketing, interest rates, inflation and impacts on agriculture, farm insurance, cattle pneumonia, succession planning, mental health, fertilizer and technology options.

“We also have Joy Agnew from Olds College. She’s talking about the new technology we are dealing with in agriculture and a peek into the future of what’s coming down the line.”

Fournier says the economic concerns are key to the agriculture sector at this time.

“The supply chain issues. Where’s the economy going? Where’s grain prices, cattle livestock prices, fertilizer prices -going? It’s such a huge part of our bottom line and there’s been so much volatility lately. So we have got speakers in all of those areas.”

Fournier says apart from the hot button topics, there’s the networking and exchange of ideas especially in the Lazy Farmer Lounge as neighbours get a chance to catch up and “swap ideas.”

More information on the Feb. 8-9 event can be found on the Lloyd Ex website and social media.
