The Goat is home for me in more ways than one. Back when I was just a “kid” in The Herd, I came to Lloydminster as an intern during one of the Border City’s traditionally rustic winters. For four months, I would learn to forget everything I learned in broadcasting school and get to know the ins and outs of the biz.
Flash forward to now, and it’s full circle. After nearly TWO DECADES in radio, it’s time to see if I’ve learned anything – and I’m stoked to have you along for the ride.
The world is full of enough things that suck – it’s my job to help forget about that even if it’s just for a few minutes on your commute, or a few hours wherever you’re listening.
I love your favorite band, I like using my mouth to talk to people (CALL… or text…) and I apologize in advance for sliding pro-wrestling references into almost every conversation.
Speaking of which, when I’m not here, I’ll probably be down in Calgary commentating for Bret Hart and Sons’ “Dungeon Wrestling”. I’m in the Ed Whalen spot, but can’t grow the moustache or feet big enough to fill those shoes – still, it’s the only time you’ll get me in a suit unless we’re going to court or something… I also host a podcast, “McGuire on Wrestling”, which you can check out here (link: mcguireshow.podbean.com)
