The preseason for the AJHL’s Lloydminster Bobcats started rough, but has the team refocused after a trip to Fort McMurray.
Going into the back-to-back weekend, winless in their earlier games over the Labour Day long weekend, The ‘Cats were on the hunt for victory.
Friday’s game would go the distance with both teams tied at 2. Remy Spooner would get the game deciding goal 3:37 into overtime.
On Saturday, it was all Lloydminster in the first period as they would score 3 goals within the first 5 minutes of play.
The Oil Barons would try to mount a comeback, but an early goal from Ben Aucoin in the 2nd period proved to be enough to hold a 4-3 win.
The Bobcats’ Home Opener is this Friday at the Centennial Civic Centre. The Calgary Canucks are in town, with puck drop at 7PM.
