City-wide residential snow removal starts Thursday in Lloydminster

City-wide residential snow removal will begin on Thursday, March 7, according to City of Lloydminster officials.

Crews will begin in areas west of 50 Avenue and west of 59 Avenue in the blue and yellow zones as shown on the curbside collection map, before moving to the pink, orange, and green zones.

Residents and drivers are being asked to make sure garbage carts, vehicles, and other obstructions are removed from the street before crews arrive. Signs will be posted 48 hours before snow removal begins.

Also, while parking bans will not be enforced until Oct. 2024, the city is advising that the policy is in place and asking motorists not to park on the street during the snow removal process. When enforced in October, the ban will be in effect Monday to Friday, excluding holidays, and includes:

  • Priority 1 Routes – 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Priority 2 Routes – 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and during residential snow removal (with 48 hours notice)
  • Priority 3 Routes – No overnight parking
  • Residential Snow Removal – 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. with 48 hours notice

For schools and cul-de-sacs, a snow removal team will work in the areas adjacent to school arrival/departure areas. Once the school areas are completed, the crew will move into neighbourhoods with cul-de-sacs following the above-mentioned curbside collection zones.
