Some Lloydminster neighbourhoods can expect street works to begin in the spring and wrap up by Jul. 12.
Lloydminster City Council has approved work in the following areas:
- 29 Street from 54 Avenue to 55 Avenue
- 55 Avenue from 29 Street to 30 Street
- 30 Street from 54 Avenue to 55 Avenue
At its meeting on Monday, Mar. 12, council awarded the contract to Knelsen Sand & Gravel Ltd. for $792,961.50, excluding GST, to be allocated from the Capital Budget, with a contingency allowance of 15% for $119,000, excluding GST.
The contractor will perform repairs to surface works and replace the existing infrastructure like asphalt concrete pavement, concrete curb and gutter, and sidewalks to ensure proper service for residents and businesses in the area.
