Tourism week being observed in Canada

The weather may still be a bit undecided, but the time is right to plan for summer as National Tourism Week is being observed.

Campsites at provincial and regional parks are already open for booking in both Saskatchewan and Alberta.

In Saskatchewan, the week will be a time to encourage residents to discover something new this summer – to plan road trips through the province, try new activities, taste different flavours, and explore unique, authentic experiences, says the tourism ministry.

Throughout the week of April 15-19, Tourism Saskatchewan will release a series of videos on Facebook to showcase the province’s abundant tourism resources and some of the people, attractions, and events that make Saskatchewan an inviting destination.

In Alberta, the province is focusing on sharing the scenery of its landscape from the Rocky Mountains to the rolling prairies, to create a lasting sense of adventure and wonder particularly for international visitors through Travel Alberta.

The Alberta agency is tasked with growing service to new and existing international routes from Asia, Europe, and the United States to generate the greatest return on investment for the province’s visitor economy. Alberta is aiming for $25 billion in yearly visitor expenditures by 2035.
