Woman in Saskatoon hospital, suspect faces attempted murder charges: Lloydminster RCMP

A woman had to be taken by STARS Air Ambulance to a Saskatoon hospital after Lloydminster RCMP found her with life-threatening injuries on Sunday at an apartment complex.

On April 14, at about 6:30 p.m., police received multiple 911 calls for a disturbance at an apartment near 51 Avenue and 34 Street in Lloydminster.

The victim was treated at the scene by police and later EMS before being taken to Saskatoon.

Police found the suspect, who refused to leave his apartment and a standoff ensued for the next 4 hours. The suspect eventually exited his apartment and was taken into custody without further incident.

Investigators have charged Seth Johnson-Larose, 23-years of Lloydminster with multiple criminal code offences, including:

  • Attempted murder
  • Aggravated assault
  • Forcible confinement
  • Assault while choking
  • Resisting arrest

After a judicial interim release hearing, Johnson was remanded into custody and is to return to Alberta Court of Justice in Lloydminster on April 23.

Although it is not recommended for the public to become involved in any violent incident, the Lloydminster RCMP would like to acknowledge and thank a good Samaritan who intervened in the assault and likely saved the life of the victim.
