A man has been arrested after a standoff with Lloydminster RCMP.
Late in the evening of Wednesday, March 25, the RCMP were called to a home in the 5200 block of 46 street, for a report of a stabbing. When they arrived, police found a man armed with a knife. After a brief confrontation, the police used a taser on the man. He was treated by EMS at the scene, then arrested by the officers.
The RCMP found that nobody had been stabbed at the scene, and say that a language barrier may have caused confusion between the caller and the dispatcher. An investigation will determine if charges will be laid.
